E-Series
GRIDCOOLER keel coolers have zinc
anodes mounted at each end of the unit. This modification
is available upon request at no additional charge and works
well for fishing vessels where entanglement of nets is a concern.
L-Series
GRIDCOOLER keel coolers (shown here in multi-pass configuration)
with extended support plates reduce the number of hull penetrations
needed for installation.
Z-Series
GRIDCOOLER keel coolers have low-profile flange connection
with all mounting hardware and mating flanges included. Custom
insulators provide isolation from the hull, if desired. This
design eases installation on double hulled vessels and may
eliminate the need for cofferdams.
Angled
Tube GRIDCOOLER keel coolers offer an efficient
keel cooling option for stationary vessels. While most keel
coolers are designed to transfer heat to the slipstream current
of the sea water while underway, the angled tube GRIDCOOLER
keel cooler is designed to take advantage of the buoyancy
driven flow of sea water created through mixed convection
while the vessel is at rest.
Enhanced
GRIDCOOLER keel coolers offer heat transfer improvements
of as much as 30% over a smooth wall tube. This technological
innovation, exclusive to Fernstrum®, offers increased
internal surface area while disrupting the boundary layer
by imparting turbulent coolant flow.
